MoroccanOil Treatment Review: Is it worth the hype?

Today I am here with a review of a hair product that I have been using quite a lot lately. It is the Moroccan Oil Treatment; yes, the product people went crazy over a year back. I didn’t get it then because I didn’t want to jump into the “Moroccan oil” craze and was happy with my own hair care regime. But lately my hair is acting weird, it has suddenly become excessively dry and frizzy (let’s not talk about hair fall). So a friend of mine suggested this and I finally laid my hands on this ‘magic bottle’.

Yes, magic bottle as people say, but was it really magical for me? Read the review to find out.

Packaging:-
The treatment oil comes in a glass bottle with pump dispenser. I love pump dispensers as it is very convenient to use, totally allowing me the control of how much product I want and there is no fear of contamination.

Product Description (Texture, Color and Fragrance):-
It is an oil based product which is orangey yellow in color and has a very light, non-sticky texture. It has an herbal smell.

How I use:-
I apply 1–2 pumps of this product to my towel-dried hair, from mid-length to ends; I concentrate more on the ends though. Then I let my hair dry naturally. Sometimes I even apply on my dry hair to tame flyaways and condition hair. For me, it works better when used on dry hair.

My Experience:-

I have been using this for more than a month now. It tames my frizz, makes my hair soft and manageable to some extent. It has changed the way my hair feels. Yes, it makes my hair feel nice and smell nice, but look wise, the condition of my hair didn’t change much. I became so confused. I mean, a product that makes my hair so soft to touch how come doesn’t make my hair look that soft and smooth. That’s when I searched for the ingredients and could find that this ‘magic potion’ is loaded with silicon and other chemicals and contains only a tiny quantity of Argan oil. And the silicon is what makes the hair so soft to touch. Silicon gives the silky, smooth feel and the ‘appearance’ of healthy hair and do not actually benefit the hair in any other way. Silicon just coats the strands of hair to make them “appear” sleeker and more polished. I became so disappointed.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I Like about Moroccan Oil Treatment:-

• Makes my hair soft to touch.
• Tames frizz when used on dry hair.
• Makes hair manageable.
• Smells nice.
• Gets absorbed quickly.
• Good for chemically treated hair.
• Pump dispenser for ease of use.

What I don’t Like about Moroccan Oil Treatment:-

• Silicon and Silicon.
• Provides a temporary smoothing effect.
• Doesn’t make any difference look wise.
• Very expensive.

Final Thoughts:-
‘My experience’ section says it all. It did nothing that wowed me. Whatever happiness it gave me by adding the shine and softness to my hair went down the drain after I saw the ingredient list. This product doesn’t repair or help the hair in the long run. Moreover, this is insanely priced. I don’t mind paying more for a product that actually works. For that amount of money I expect some bona fide miracle in a bottle, and this is not. I would rather go for pure Argan oil that would at least rescue and repair my hair. This is indeed a hyped product.
Though I am still using this, but just as a serum to tame flyaways and make manageable. I have paid so much for the product and it breaks my heart to see it just lying around.
