The Blushing Bride: Agnirupa BhattAcharyya

When I started blogging few years back, I had no clue that one day I’ll make truer friends than I’ve ever had before; that I’ll connect better with some of the beauties on blogosphere more than I connected to people I went to school with. Agnirupa Acharyya, today’s bride, is one of such ladies. Yes, we haven’t talked a lot over these years, but whenever we did, it always felt nice and special.

She got married on 15th December 2015Yes, it has already been a year that she got entwined in this beautiful bond, but the memories are still so fresh. And so today she is here to share her wedding moments with us.

How did you guys meet?
“I lived in Kolkata and he in Chandannagar. I was doing my masters in Zoology and he had just joined his first job in the IT world. We basically had nothing in common- hometowns far apart,  no common school, college or workplace! But Facebook played cupid. We had a mutual friend on whose Facebook wall we came across each other and started chatting overlooking our mutual friend. He instantly added me as a friend and we started chatting regularly from that day. He was a very closed, shy guy who was just recovering from a heartbreak and so was I. So a relationship was out of the question. His brother was getting married a couple of months later and just a week before the wedding he pinged and invited me. It was a long way away and I genuinely hate attending weddings where I don't know anybody but I instantly said yes. Thus we finally met.

We kept meeting occasionally & talked all day long but still stuck at friendship when a 3rd person showed up from my side and that was when He realized that if he did not take the friendship to another level, somebody else might chip in. Courtship began and after 3 yrs, he proposed formally for marriage and a year and half later, we got hitched!”

So how long did you get to plan your entire wedding?
“I exactly had a year to plan *_* Date for registry was fixed in Nov 2015 and social in Dec 2015”

Tell us something about where you got your outfits and accessories, both wedding and reception?
“Benarasi is from Adi Dhakeswari Triangular park and gold jewellery partly made by family jeweller partly from Senco. Costume ones like nath, mangtika etc are from Metro Vardhan market.

Reception benarasi saree is from Priyo Gopal Bishoyi and jewellery is entirely from Metro plaza.”

Where did you get your makeup and hair done?

“My makeup artist was Abhijit paul and he was amazing. He did my entire makeup in 30 minutes flat and left. Hair was done by his asst Debjani di and saree draping by Raj Banerjee

Reception was in Chandannagar so had to get a newbie makeup artist named Prosenjit all the way from Kolkata who did hair, saree draping & makeup along with his wife, and quite a good job too!”

Tell us something about your photographer?
“My photographer was Partha Sarathi Chakraborty from Kolkata who I knew from my friend's sister's wedding and he is an amazing fun guy & became our family member in those 3 days. He covered both wedding & reception.”

Any special moment you want to share with us?

“Amidst the chaos and sea of known + unknown faces when I walked out towards my would-be husband decked in my bridal attire & he stared & stared & finally caught my eye & half-smiled in that very knowing assuring way that I knew everything would be okay and worth it.”

Any advice you want to all the readers out there?
“Definitely take at least 6 months to plan your wedding, there are so many things which take time & go wrong! Make sure to drape your wedding saree at the store to understand properly how it would look on you, your complexion, your posture. Talk thoroughly with your makeup artist & photographer and create a friendly rapport way before the wedding, share an easy relationship with them so that they know what you want & like and also are frank with you if you are going wrong somewhere (my makeup artist tore a big glittering stone from the end of my mangtika and draped my saree over my head instead of using the separate chunari I had bought coz he thought I would look too OTT. My photographer kept scolding me, teasing me throughout to keep my chin down or sit in a different way to put me at ease)
You are going to make lifelong memories with the help of these & be sure to make the most out of it :) Last but not the least, don't forget to enjoy your own wedding because well, the moments will never come back!”

DeckandDine says:-

I generally prefer typical, traditional Bengali brides, because most of the women, whom I saw experimenting with their bridal looks, got totally messed up. But my my, how beautiful Agnirupa looked! From the gorgeous meenakari Benarasi saree to the stunner green zari embroidery blouse; from her smoky eyes to her killer red lips, I loved everything. I totally adored how she skipped the typical tissue veil and went with a ghoonghat with the saree pallu itself. How ethereal she looked. I can never imagine myself carrying this look so effortlessly. And ohh! I loved her reception saree too.

Heres wishing Agnirupa and Gora lifelong happiness. May the light of your love always glow upon your marriage!!! May your life always be filled with happiness and delights. Good luck on the days to come. :)
