Diwali / Indian Festive Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone,

Diwali is almost here, it’s knocking on the door. Time to light up the house and life, time to celebrate with family and friends, time to gorge on delicious food and time to do a fun Diwali special tutorial for you all. I have done gold smoky eyes to complement my Diwali outfit. I am kind of obsessed with golden eye shadow and I feel that no Indian festive makeup is complete without a touch of gold on eyes.
So here goes my look... Hope you like it..
EYES:-

(Please ignore the redness.. I poked my eyes with the mascara wand..)

For this look I did eyes first; so that if there is fallout, I can easily clean off. Groom your brows. Apply eye primer (if needed). Apply golden eye shadow on inner to the middle of lid concentrating more on the center.  Now take a black eye shadow and pat on the outer corner. Start blending; go over the crease following the crease line to the inner corner of eye.  Take a brown eye shadow and blend on the crease as the transition shade. Apply a champagne colored eye shadow on brow bone to highlight. Line your waterline with kohl. Taking gel liner on a smudge brush, go on the outer and inner lower lash line; leave the center blank. On the center apply the same golden eye shadow. Curl lashes and apply two coats of mascara. You can apply false lashes too. I couldn't find my eye lash glue so I had to skip applying false lashes.…

BASE:-
Clean off any fallout. Start by prepping your skin. Apply a moisturizer and also don’t forget your sunscreen if you are going out in the sun. Apply dots of your favorite liquid foundation all over the face and blend with a wet sponge. This will give a dewy finish. Apply corrector and concealer under your eyes and on any discoloration on the face.

CHEEKS:-
Contour and apply a peachy blush on the cheeks and also your favorite highlighter on the high cheek bones and nose bridge.

LIPS:-
Matte red lips. Line your lips with liner and apply red lipstick. I used Maybelline Lip Gradation in Red 2.

Let me know what you feel about this look. Wishing you all a very happy Diwali in advance. May every aspect of your life become as luminous and exciting as the lights flickering in the festival of lights. May the festival of lights be the harbinger of joy and prosperity. Take care, be safe and have lots of fun..

  1. Super Pretty, I love how the gold really brightens the look up but it still has this dark look to it!
