Easy Gold and Black Spotlight / Halo Smokey Eyes: Tutorial with Step by Step Pictures

Hello everyone,
Spotlight smoky eye look, this is my current love. I have tried them in innumerable shade combinations and today I am here with my favorite brown-black-gold combo. I am kind of obsessed with golden eye shadows and I feel that no Indian festive or traditional makeup is complete without a touch of gold on eyes. This is a very glamorous, sophisticated makeup look.

I want everyone to feel amazing, look beautiful and their best selves always. So I try to come up with these tutorials, all in the hopes of making the beautiful you even more beautiful.
So without wasting anytime further, grab your eye shadows, your brushes and lets get glam together.

EYES:-

Like always, I did my eyes first. So in case there are fallout, I can easily clean them off before doing the base.
Apply a wash of skin colored eye shadow all over your lid and brow bone. This is just to create a canvas and ensure that there is no oil residue on your eyes.
Now take a brown colored eye shadow and go to and from over the crease following the crease line to the inner corner of eye. This is your transition shade.
After the transition color take a darker brown on the same brush and just buff on the socket line.
Now take a blackish brown eye shadow on a brush and pack the color on the inner and outer corners of eyes. With a fluffy brush blend well. Make sure there are no harsh lines in between the colors. Use very light feathery strokes.

Once everything is nice and blended, take a small flat brush and a concealer. You just have to carefully curve the center of your lid out. Press the brush on the center of the socket line and drag it down. This is one of the steps where you will feel that ‘oh my God this is so messy’. Don’t worry, you are going to be fine.
Now taking a golden shimmer on the flat brush, just carefully pat on top of the concealer. Blend the edges (where the golden meets the blackish brown on the side).
On the far top edge, i.e on the socket line, apply glitter or just a glittery liquid liner. Just follow the socket line and your eye shape. Don’t go all over, just on the edge of the concealer part.  I opened my eyes before it got dried, so my liner smudged a bit. Be careful with yours.
Now take your gel/liquid liner and line your upper lash line, extending the corner in a baby wing.
Line your waterline with kohl. Take some dark brown eye shadow on a smudger brush and smudge the kohl, the smokier, the better.
Finally, round off your eye makeup with coats of your favorite mascara. You can apply false lashes as well.

My eye shadows are from Morphe 25A palette, the glitter liner is MissClaire Pearl Liner in Gold 08, liquid liner is good old Lakme Insta Liner and mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga.

BASE:-
Clean off fallouts.
Apply a moisturizer and also don’t forget your sunscreen if you are going out in the sun.
Apply dots of your favorite foundation all over the face and blend with a sponge, brush or fingers. I prefer a wet sponge as this will give a dewy finish. Apply corrector and concealer under your eyes and on any discoloration on the face. My foundation, corrector, concealer everything is from Kryolan Derma Palette.

CHEEKS:-
Contour and apply a warm peachy blush on the cheeks and also your favorite highlighter on your cheek bones, cupid’s bow and nose bridge. I generally skip highlighter on my cupid’s bow, but apply lightly on my chin. Blush and Contour Powder is from Ben Nye Blush palette. Highlighter is Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter.

LIPS:-
What else can complement this eye makeup other than red lips? But instead of true red I went for a burgundy one. It is
NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Cherry Skies.

So thats it. Very simple and easy and do. Do let me know if you recreate.

Lastly, I am truly overwhelmed with the response I received on my teaser post. Your words mean a lot. You all keep me going. Thank you for all the love and support.
