REVIEW: Ugees Undergarment Liquid Detergent
The personal hygiene sector is flooded with detergents and comfort care products made for our clothes, but we hardly find anything that is specifically formulated and designed for our undergarments. These wardrobe essentials are delicate, yet they go through the most rigorous wear and tear journey. The daily wear and tear, our sweat and sebum, the occasional and sometimes unwanted stubborn stains, followed by incorrect washing techniques, all of these, over time, damage the fabric. The standard, over-the-counter detergent powders or soaps that we often use to wash our undergarments are way too harsh for their delicate material, causing roughness, fading, irritation, and damage. The prolonged exposure to harsh detergents is not good for our skin either, especially of sensitive areas.
That is where Ugees Undergarment Liquid Detergent steps in, and trust me, it has been a total game-changer.

What Is Ugees?
A newbie in the market, Ugees is India’s first intimate wear wash. It is a plant-based liquid detergent formulated specifically for our regular undergarments, luxurious lingerie, swimwear, active-wear, and all other delicate fabrics. It is made with skin-friendly, Biofilic formula, specifically designed to effectively clean our intimate wear and active wear without damaging the garments or irritating our skin. Unlike regular detergents, it is not loaded with harsh chemicals, bleach, synthetic dyes or artificial fragrances.

First Impressions:
The first thing that caught my eye was the surprisingly low price tag (No shame in admitting that). Plus I got good discounts on Instamart. Had it been even a few hundred more, I would have taken time to think and rethink, but with this, there was no place for second thoughts. Then came the user-friendly, leak-proof pump bottle, making it super convenient to use, even on the go (They have travel-sized bottles, too). Using it was super easy; pump, rub gently, rinse and you are done. Long gone the days of soaking and rigorous scrubbing. Saves time and effort!
I always prefer products that don’t have overpowering fragrances. Advertised as a natural, plant-based thing, I expected Ugees to have that natural fragrance, and I am glad it didn’t disappoint me. The smell is very mild and doesn’t bother me. I have an oversensitive nose; just one puff of a little strong fragrance, and my nose turns into a full Bollywood drama queen, going red, itchy, followed by a million sneezes. Fortunately, nothing happened with this, making me super happy.
It leaves my garments smelling fresh and incredibly soft to the touch. Yay! No more strong artificial detergent smells! I want to mention another point here, whenever I use normal detergent powder or bar, my hands become itchy and feel like desert, but with this, my hands felt softer and less moisture-deprived.

Why It Works: My Thoughts!
Around 3-4 months back, I randomly bumped across a Ugees-sponsored Ad on Facebook. I didn’t bother and scrolled away. After that, similar ads kept resurfacing on my screen every now and then. They had my attention, I stopped and watched, and like many others, thought, “Ah! Another marketing gimmick!” Then one day, while casually surfing Instamart to order something just to use an about-to-expire coupon, I saw it again. I didn’t think much and ordered it.
Ugees boosts gentle yet powerful cleaning. The ingredients are natural, biodegradable and help in effectively lifting dirt, sweat marks, and other stubborn stains, that too without causing any damage to the fibers. To see how it works on various fabrics, I used it both for my everyday wear and luxury lingerie. The garments came out feeling fresh, clean, and surprisingly softer. Also there was no itching or irritation afterwards. They seemed incredibly soft and smooth. So, no more rough and scratchy innerwear.
Since it has a neutral pH and is dermatologically tested, other than normal skinned people, it is especially suited for individuals with sensitive skin or those who are prone to infections and skin allergies. It lathers well, does its job effectively, and after completing its task, washes off easily without leaving any residue behind. This is another point many of us overlook: residues irritate intimate areas, so we should invest in something that doesn’t, and Ugees is definitely one of them.
Ugees claims to kill 99.9% of bacteria—and while I didn’t conduct a lab test, my clothes felt cleaner and fresher, especially after gym sessions. It’s definitely more reassuring than using a generic detergent.

What I Loved:
• Both Skin & Environment-Friendly
• pH-balanced and dermatologically tested If you have sensitive skin or are prone to skin reactions, give it a try.
• Great for period stains – I tried this on a stained underwear, and it worked better than expected.
• Hygienic Wash: Cleaner and softer wear without putting much effort.
• No more irritation or itching
• Eco-conscious packaging – The bottles the products come in are 100% recyclable, reduce overall plastic usage by eliminating the need for a vast number of single-use bottles.
• Available in multiple sizes – From easy-to-carry travel-sized packs and regular use bottles to large refill packs, they are available in a variety of sizes.
• Easily available: Besides their brand website, they are available on Amazon, Flipkart and also on quick-commerce platforms like Instamart, Zepto, Bigbasket and Blinkit.
• Easy to Use: The pump mechanism is mess-free and it helps you get just the right amount of product, so you don't end up wasting any.

Note:
• At first, you may find the price to be a little high, especially if you compare it with regular detergents available in the market, but once you use it, you will see it’s actually quite reasonable. You really need less to get the result, and thus the quality and quantity totally justify the price tag.
• Some users reported leakage issues during shipping. I have not faced any such issue. If you are apprehensive, order from the quick delivery e-commerce sites, that way the travel time is less and lesser chance of the package getting damaged in transit.
• It takes a bit longer to rinse out compared to bar soaps or powder detergent—but that’s expected with liquid formulations.

Verdict: Is Ugees Worth It?
To me, absolutely, yes!! I don’t remember my delicates feeling this soft and clean before. So if you also care about your undergarments and want to extend their life while keeping hygiene and your skin health in check, Ugees is a must-have product, that too without burning a hole in your pocket. It combines cleaning efficiency, fabric care, and skin safety in one easy-to-use and easily available product.
It doesn’t matter if you are a minimalist with a few staple pieces or someone who lives in laces and frills; it doesn’t matter if you prefer cozy, comfy cottons or the feel of lucent satin and luxurious silks, Ugees is the detergent your delicates deserve.
