Blue Smokey Halo Eyes Tutorial with Step by Step Pictures

Hello everyone,

The look I’ll be creating today is inspired by a trend, we all have been seeing a lot recently, “Halo” or “spotlight” eye makeup. It is everywhere now, but I personally loved doing this eye makeup much before this actually became a trend. (Have a look at my last year’s Diwali makeup HERE.) This eye makeup really opens up eyes and gives the illusion of bigger, rounder eyes. This is very easy and quick to do, so I often end up doing this whenever I am in a rush. I did a simple one on my last one (See HERE) and today I’ll be doing a dramatic one which you can sport during festivals or at parties.

You can even try this out in Diwali this year, I am planning to do so…
So without blabbering any further, lets start the review…

EYES:-
I always prefer doing the eye makeup first, so that if there are fallouts, I can easily clean off. Start by prepping eye lids and grooming your brows. Apply an off-white eye shadow all over the lid just to make sure there is no oily residue. Take a blue eye shadow and start packing it on the outer and inner corners of your eyes. Blend. Now take a lighter blue on a fluffy brush and brush over the crease area. You can take brown instead of the lighter blue to tone down the look. After that, dab a satiny golden eye shadow on the center of your lid and blended well so that there are no harsh lines in between the colors. In a nutshell, you just have to sandwich the lighter color in between the darker ones. Apply a shimmery beige/champagne eye shadow to highlight your brow bone and inner corner of your eye. I was using finger to do this and didn't notice that I had blue eye shadow on my finger tip; the champagne got mixed with the blue and gave me an icy blue kind of highlighter. L Now, apply kohl on your lower lash line, swirl a smudger brush on the first blue eye shadow and smudge the kohl, concentrate on the ends. Pat some golden on the center of the lower lash line, blend edges. Finally apply loads of mascara to finish off the look.

My eye shadows are from Coastal Scents 252 and Morphe 35F palette. Mascara is Benefit They’re Real and kohl is Lakme Eyeconic.

BASE:-
Clean off any fallout. Start by prepping your skin. Apply a moisturizer and also don’t forget your sunscreen if you are going out in the sun. Apply dots of your favorite foundation all over the face and blend with a wet sponge. This will give a dewy finish. Apply corrector and concealer under your eyes and on any discoloration on the face. My foundation, corrector and concealer are all from Kryolan Derma

Pallet.

CHEEKS:-
Apply a peachy blush on the cheeks and also your favorite highlighter on the high cheek bones and nose bridge. I skipped contouring for this look. My blush is from
Ben Nye Blush pallet and highlighter is Benefit Highbeam.

LIPS:-
My lip shade is a mixture of colors from Anastasia Beverley Hills lip Palette.
