Simple Halo Eye Makeup Tutorial with Step by Step Pictures

Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude for all the lovely compliments I received on my post in MSB and on my inbox as well. It was truly overwhelming and made my entire day.

Many of you have requested a breakdown of the look, especially the eye makeup; so here I am today with this super easy-peasy tutorial.
The look I created is inspired by a trend, we all have been seeing a lot recently, “halo” or “spotlight” eye makeup. It is everywhere now, but I personally loved doing this eye makeup much before this actually became a trend. (Have a look at my last year’s Diwali makeup HERE.) This eye makeup really opens up eyes and gives the illusion of bigger, rounder eyes. This is very easy and quick to do, so I often end up doing this whenever I am in a rush. I did this on my office to pandal hopping/party tutorial too. (Check it out HERE)

So without blabbering any further, lets get started…

EYES:-
I always prefer doing the eye makeup first, so that if there are fallouts, I can easily clean off. Start by prepping eye lids and grooming your brows. Apply an off-white eye shadow all over the lid just to make sure there is no oily residue. Then on a fluffy brush take a matte plumy brown eye shadow and start buffing on the crease area.  After that take a blackish brown eye shadow and start packing it on the outer and inner corners of your eyes. Blend. Dab a satiny beige-champagne color on the centre of your lid and blended well so that there are no harsh lines in between the colors. In a nutshell, you just have to sandwich the lighter color in between the darker ones. Now, using black gel liner or a liquid liner, line your upper lash line winging it out. Finally apply kohl, smudge with your finger or a brush and loads of mascara to finish off the look.

My eye shadows are from Coastal Scents 252 and Morphe 35F palette. Mascara is Benefit They’re Real and Liquid Liner is from Miss Claire.

BASE:-
Clean off any fallout. Start by prepping your skin. Apply a moisturizer and also don’t forget your sunscreen if you are going out in the sun. Apply dots of your favorite foundation all over the face and blend with a wet sponge. This will give a dewy finish. Apply corrector and concealer under your eyes and on any discoloration on the face. My foundation, corrector and concealer are all from Kryolan Derma Pallet.

CHEEKS:-
Apply a peachy blush on the cheeks and also your favorite highlighter on the high cheek bones and nose bridge. I skipped contouring for this look. My blush is from Ben Nye Blush pallet and highlighter is Benefit Highbeam.

LIPS:-
I went La Splash Latte Confessions to compliment the look.

So that’s it. So simple and can be nailed within minutes. Do try this look and post in MSB. You can even message me or mail me at madhu.9615@gmail.com. Would love to hear from you.

Once again, thank you all so much for all the love you have been pouring. Love you all…
