ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey: Review, Swatches and LOTD

Hello everyone,

I express my gratitude for the overwhelming response I received from you all on our blog posts for DurgaPuja lookbook. Your words mean a lot.
Coming back to today’s post, I am here with a review of a much raved shade from the house of Colorpop and it is DOPEY from their Ultra Satin range.

What Colorpop says:-
High pigmentation and a satin-matte finish in liquid lipstick form to keep your lips soft and comfy all day long.

Packaging:-
A cylindrical bottle with silver cap which has a doe-foot applicator attached inside. The doe foot applicator is of decent quality and applies the product easily and evenly.

Shade:-
“Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, it's off to the club you go in this mauve with a purple undertone”, that is how Colorpop describes Dopey.

Dopey is a beautiful mid-tone dusty mauve, and depending on your lip pigmentation it can pull pink or purple undertone. Like on me, it is a dusty pinkish purple kind of a color. Very versatile, you can wear it to your college, office with neutral eyes and can also rock it during night with dramatic eye makeup.

Texture and Finish:-
The texture is very soft, very creamy and glides on lips like magic. It takes around 1 minute to settle into the gorgeous and incredibly comfortable matte finish.  Coming from the Ultra Satin range, the matte formula is so polished and non-drying; it neither settles into fine lines nor does it accentuate dry patches.

Color Payoff and Staying Power:-
Incredibly pigmented; goes gorgeously opaque in a single swipe. It stays for around 8 hours on me, with no need for touch ups, even after snacks and drinks. And then leaves a very pretty and stubborn stain behind; and it takes real effort to get the stain off lips. So it is advisable to go slowly and be careful to stay within the lines.

Summing up my Likes and Dislikes:-
What I like about ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey:-
  • A beautiful color.
  • Versatile shade.
  • Soft, creamy texture.
  • Lightweight formula.
  • Non-sticky; non-gloppy.
  • Keep lips soft and pillowy.
  • Glides beautifully.
  • Lips don’t feel dry.
  • Insanely pigmented.
  • A little is needed to get the desired coverage, so the product would last long.
  • It covers pigmented lips beautifully.
  • Amazing staying power.
  • Works with so many skin tones.
  • Nice travel friendly packaging.

What I don’t like about ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey:-
  • Non-availability in India.

Final Thoughts:-
Beautiful shade, crazily pigmented, glides on and sets into a striking polished matte finish without leaving lips parched, stays super long and just $6. Colourpop Dopey is dope.

Rating:-
5/5

Colorpop’s Ultra Satin range is amazing. I have got 7 and want to try their other shades as well. Absolute love, much better than the Ultra Matte range which I feel is very drying. What do you think? Let us know J
