Ben Nye Translucent and Luxury Powders in Fair, Topaz and Beige Suede Review

Hello everyone,
How much are translucent powders important? Translucent powder, as we know, is used to set the foundation and concealer for a lasting, fresh look. And to me, it is very important.

So today I’ll be sharing quick reviews of 3 famous, hugely raved powders from the house of Ben Nye. They are in shade Fair, Beige Seude and Topaz. I guess you have definitely heard about Ben Nye Banana Powder, the product every makeup lovers are crazy about; and the ones I am reviewing today are its sisters and have been the “in thing” especially with highlight and contour lovers.

So let us get into the nitty-gritty details…

Packaging:-

The powders come in jars with shaker tops dispensers and black twist off caps. The shaker tops help prevent pouring out excess product.

SHADES:-

Fair:-
It is almost translucent with faint hints of color. It is suitable for fair skinned beauties. But I have used this to bake medium skin toned beauties as well, and it worked beautifully. But if you are planning to use it as an overall face powder, then this is good for fair skinned beauties. I love this and it suits my NW25 skin tone to a T.

Beige  Suede:-
This is perfect for setting medium complexions and highlighting deep skin. I would suggest this to every medium/tanned skinned toned beauties, try this…you will be more than happy to miss the white cast in your photos that often comes with other powders.

Topaz:-
This powder is a very rich shade. The shade has strong golden and bronze undertones. It is great for rich skin toned dusky girls with yellow/golden undertones.

My experience with Ben Nye Powders:-

Ben Nye has different categories and shades of powder from 'Translucent to Luxury Face Powders'. Topaz and Fair are from Translucent Powder range, where as Beige Seude is from their Luxury Face Powder range.
I love the texture of these powders. They are silky, finely milled, and the mattifying effect is to die for. They make skin look brighter and keep foundation, concealer and blush intact all day.

I can’t believe how perfect “Fair” makes my skin look. The powder is silky, spreads like dream and gives me a lovely natural matt look, without looking caked on. And trust me, it looks better with time. I apply it with a brush, allowing me to sweep it on easily and not put too much on. When I want to touch up, I blot my face first with a normal tissue and then apply a thin layer over oily areas, and voila, skin looks fresh and glowing again.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I LIKE about Ben Nye powders:-
  • Soft, silky texture.
  • Very light weighed.
  • Easy to apply and blend.
  • Natural looking coverage.
  • Matte skin without looking too chalky.
  • Keeps oil at bay for hours.
  • Don't look cakey.
  • A little is needed.
  • You get a ton of product for not too much coin.
  • Shaker tops for ease of use.
  • Sturdy packaging.

What I DON’T LIKE about Ben Nye Powders:-
  • Not easily available in India. Even if available, the price is pretty high.
  • It does not really bode well for on the go touch ups.

Final Thoughts:-
I love these powders. They absorb the excess oil in a single swipe and give a flawless matte effect. The mate effect never gives you a cakey look or powdery feel. It's so natural looking. You get a ton of product for not too much coin. The tub will last you ages, so with more products for the price, it's as beautiful on your wallet as it is on your skin.

Ratings:-
4.5/5 J
