The Blushing Bride: Ira Sharma

“If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. If it ever becomes tarnished, you lovingly polish it until it gleams like new. It becomes special because you have made it so, you have fight for it and so it grows more beautiful and precious as time goes by.”
These are the lines by F. Burton Howard and that’s what comes to my mind when I think of Ira’s love story.

When two people love each other, no one can come in between them. Nothing can destroy their love. Even on the worst days, even when they heedlessly hurt each other in the cruellest, most deceitful ways, they still carry in their heart a love that never abandons them. Today on The Blushing Bride series we have a very pretty woman who went through a lot to marry her love of life. Life is not always easy, but that’s what makes us strong. Isn't?
So let us go through her story…

How did you guys meet?

We were in the same school where I studied from STDVIII to XII. And he was my classmate during XI & XII. We literally never exchanged a single word while in school. After school we went ahead in our lives and he chose to be a Marine Engineer in Merchant Navy and I was completing my graduation! In the second year of my graduation, out of the blue I saw him on the road and the same evening he pinged me on Orkut! ( Yes, facebook was still not a thing here in India ). We started casual chatting and all when after a month he told me that he liked me during school itself! :-)
Well, things went like that for a while and we met after 3-4 months. I don’t know if it was love or destiny he felt like home. There was a family tragedy and his mom got hospitalized after a very bad car accident for 2months after which she left us. We married in the court on 13th sept 2010 and I legally started living with him since 10th Nov 2010 and so we have two anniversaries!!!

So how long did you get to plan your entire event?
You know we never had a proper wedding with rituals it was just the legal one for us! So in 2016 we completed 6 years of us and thought of celebrating it with my mehendi & sangeet and a social party the next day. So we decided on celebrating it on 7th Jan 2017 and had roughly one month to prepare for everything!

Tell us something about where you got your outfits and accessories for the Anniversary Party?

I got my lehenga from Rama Sarees, Bhootnath Market in Lucknow. I wanted a simple kundan jewellery to pair it with my lehenga but found this necklace set too pretty so didn’t bother much and bought it from a store in the same market. I got two heels one for the mehendi from Catwalk & the other one for the Anniversary party from Mochi. Both of them were quite comfortable to wear and never bothered me while dancing at all!

I wore gold kada bangles as well with my lehenga which were gifted by my Father in Law.
For my Mehendi & Sangeet on 6th Jan 2017, I got a simple colorful lehenga choli from a shop in my hometown. I wore flower jewellery which was actually DIY jewellery by my cute Sister in Law.

Where did you get your makeup and hair done?

I got my makeup & hair done by a local beauty salon where I used to go since I was really tiny. I didn’t want a very heavy look and also my skin was really dry at that time so I kept it minimal!
Hair was done at the same salon by an assistant and everybody just loved my hairstyle!

Tell us something about your photographer?
He is a family photographer and we asked him to not make it look like a typical bridal wedding photoshoot. We also got some candid shots with props!
He did a fabulous job and everybody loved all our pictures!

Any special moment you want to share with us?
Yes, when all my in laws family gathered around me to click pictures while I was getting my mehendi! It was really a special moment and I felt extremely blessed to have so many amazing people around me.

Also, his friend’s had surprised us with a proper band baaja and we literally danced to the venue from our place so it was a typical Baraat feel and everybody was dancing like crazy as if they have waited way too much for this day!

Any advice you want to give to the readers out there?
I am surely not the best one to give any bridal advice but yes I would say keep things simple and enjoy the little things and don’t get lost so much in the wedding preparations that when all of it is over, you realise you forgot to make memories while worrying about the dress, matching accessories etc. It all passes in a haze and those moments won’t ever come back!

When I started blogging few years back, I had no clue that one day I’ll make truer friends than I’ve ever had before; that I’ll connect better with some of the beauties on blogosphere more than I connected to people I went to school with. Ira is one of such ladies. I met her during my days in Wiseshe and trust me we had the best days. Those were my initial days in the blogging word. I've eaten her head much and she has been an epitome of patience.

Ira, you are one of the loveliest persons I have ever come across. You and Paresh look so beautiful and complete with each other. May you both have a wonderful life ahead..and don’t let the child in you die. Stay positive, stay strong..More power to you girl
