Traditional Bengali Look For Durga Puja

The much awaited Bengali festival Durga Puja is here. It is the biggest festival in Bengal which is celebrated with great vigour, joy and excitement.

My facebook page is filled with the pictures of different “Durga Puja looks” tried by my Non-Bengali blogger friends. Being a Bengali I feel so happy that they are trying the “Bengali look” and they are looking so stunning in them.

So being a Bengali, how can I not try a Durga puja look myself? So...here it goes..

Base:-
My base is the Derma Camouflage cream by Kroylan. Apply a good concealer under the eyes, preferably couple of shades lighter than your actual your skin tone. It is very important to have a bright under eye area for any eye makeup to work.

Eyes:-
Make sure you have an even and smooth base. Apply an eye primer so that the eye shadows can be applied in a smooth, even layer, and so that it will stay in place on the eyelid. I have used Urban Decay eye shadow Potion.
On my upper eye lid I have used a golden colored eye shadow blended with a coppery shade on the outer corners. I used the same copper eye shadow for my crease. I just added a touch of dirty bronze on the outer corners. On brow bone I have used a white gold colored eyeshadow and then again a shimmery gold on inner corners. All the eye shadows are from 265 Coastal Scents pallet.
You can go for any brand of your choice.

On my upper lash line I applied a medium stroke of Maybelline black liquid liner and winged it out. On my outer lower lash line I have used the Maybelline Collasal Kajal and smudged it with a smudge brush from Colorbar. I have completed my eye makeup with the L’Oreal Million Lashes mascara.

Cheeks:-
My blush is "Melba" by MAC. I have highlighted my cheekbones, nose bridge and chin with Derma cream and Philosophy 7th Heaven All-Over Illuminator. It is a beautiful pinkish champagne cream highlighter that looks gorgeous on cheeks.

Lips:-
My lipstick is “Riri Woo” by MAC. You can go for any red colored lipstick preferably in a matte finish.

Bengali look is incomplete without a bindi. So a tiny bindi to finish off the look. Ohh..actually two bindis here... :P

So that's it… Pretty simple. Hope you like it. And don't forget to pour in your comments...
